show Abstracthide AbstractThe goal of this study was to obtain the genetic information of agronomic traits in squash (Cucurbita moschata). We made an F2 population derived from a cross between a Vietnamese cultivar Bi Ho Lo TN-6 and a Japanese cultivar Shishigatani to score traits for flowering times, textures of fruit surface, fresh weight and sizes of fruits, flesh colors, and Brix. A linkage map was constructed in the F2 population based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and restriction site-associated DNA sequencing (RAD-seq) analysis. QTL analysis was conducted for the flowering and fruit traits. The RAD markers linked to the QTLs were converted to codominant cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (CAPS) and derived cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (dCAPS) markers.
